Reimagine a previously filmed live action educational video into a fully animated cartoon ad aimed at engaging children, parents, and teachers alike. The new version needed to be visually appealing, accessible, and aligned with the original content’s educational intent.

My process for Playmove included research, storyboarding, character design, scripting, animation, translation, voicing, and refinement. Although the visual style was intentionally simple, every stage required careful planning to ensure the final product was engaging, accessible, and cohesive across audiences.

We opted for a simplified, slightly flat illustration style; gentle, stylized, and deliberately minimal to strike a balance between visual clarity and playful charm. Colours were chosen in a soft mid range palette: warm and inviting enough to maintain attention, but muted enough to meet accessibility standards.

To maintain energy without overstimulation, I used a bouncy, expressive animation style where each element; eyes, eyebrows, hair moved organically and with intention. Even the background remained subtly active to create a sense of movement and life throughout the piece. Every detail was considered: when a character blinks, their eyebrows bounce softly; when they turn, their hair follows in a natural swoop.

My process began with simple, sketched storyboards to plan pacing and visual flow. The voiceover was created using AI tools, then adjusted for tone and cadence, tested alongside manual takes to strike the right emotional balance. Captions were translated and reviewed for accuracy to ensure multilingual accessibility.
